You've come to the right place if you’re hoping to sleigh this holiday season with makeup looks that shine brighter than the star atop the Christmas tree.
The holidays are the perfect time to get creative with your makeup. Whether you want to try out a sultry holiday look or a pop of festive color, we’ve got a tutorial for you. Put on your favorite holiday playlist, sit back, and get ready to create some glam holiday looks.
This look calls for a bit of skill with the cut crease. You’ll need the following products:
Start by priming your eyelids with a few pats of a high-quality primer. This particular look emphasizes a high contrast between shades, and primer will keep that color from budging!
Then, using an eyeshadow blending brush, take that dark red eyeshadow (we recommend shade Heartbreaker from our best-selling Love Candy palette) and pat color into your crease, blending it out as you approach the brow bone. Think of a smokey eye — you want the darkest, most vibrant section of color to be right in and above your crease.
Once you’ve blended out the dark red, it’s time to apply that pale pink shade. Using an eyeshadow brush with densely packed bristles, fill in the rest of your eyelid with pale pink.
Normally, we’d recommend blending the two shades for a seamless smoked-out look — but for this look, you want to keep the two shades very visually distinct. The pale pink should take up the entirety of your eyelid, including the outside corner where you would typically blend down the dark red.
Next, grab your black liquid eyeliner (we recommend this precision waterproof pen) and, starting just above the center of your pupil, carefully trace your upper lash line before winging it out beyond the outer corner of your eye. Extend the eyeliner about a centimeter beyond your eye, ensuring it tapers off into a sharp wing.
The next part of this look is where your skill with the cut crease comes in. Using a white liquid eyeliner (a finely sharpened white makeup crayon will also work), draw a line right over the border between the pale pink and dark red eyeshadow. This white line should trace the curve of your eyelid crease, flaring out parallel with the black eyeliner while leaving a small gap between the two lines.
When your eyes are open, the white and black eyeliner should curve parallel to each other.
Hold your eyelid down for a minute, letting everything dry and set in place. Finally, draw delicate little snowflakes in the red eyeshadow above your eyelid crease using the same white eyeliner.
You’ll want to use just the tip of the pen for this, and again, be sure to give your snowflakes plenty of time to dry before moving around or accidentally touching them.
Whether you live somewhere that gets snow or not, you can celebrate the winter holiday in style.
If the last look had you sweating, don’t worry — we’ll take it a bit easier with this next one. To do this makeup look, you’ll need:
Like the first tutorial, start this look by priming your eyelid with an eyeshadow primer. (Just a few pats of product and a minute or two to dry is all it takes.) Next, using a fluffy eyeshadow brush, go in with a red eyeshadow all over your eyelid, including both corners and up into your eyelid crease.

You can go matte or sparkly; it’s totally up to you. If you choose to do sparkles, we recommend richly pigmented Crystal Flutter Glitter Gel in shade Cocoon.
Once you’ve blended the eyeshadow all over your lid, take a Grinch-green gel eyeliner and line underneath your lower lash line. Use a finger to smudge it out, taking care to keep the color as close to the lash line as possible. (The goal is to look festive, not like you have sickly green eyebags.)
Finally, use your black liquid eyeliner to draw winged eyeliner, then curl your lashes and apply mascara as usual. The black liner will emphasize the contrast between the red and green eyeshadow and pull the whole look together.
Just prepare yourself — no one will be able to resist smooching you under the mistletoe with this holly jolly eye makeup.
This look calls for a little something extra: Eyelash glue and red & gold sequins.
Start this look by blending dark mauve eyeshadow all over your eyelid with a fluffy eyeshadow brush. Blend it out into your eyelid crease. Using an angled brush, apply the same shade close to your lower lash line.
Next, layer a lighter, brighter red on top of the mauve using the same brushes to create a Christmas-red smokey eye. Spritz the whole look with a setting spray and let it dry before moving on to the fun part: glitter.
Apply the sequins and glitter to the outside corner of your eyes by using a clear lash liner, or dab on some glue and apply the sequins with the tip of your finger. Follow the shape of the smokey eye, narrowing the trail of glitter the further out you get from your eyelid. We recommend using red and gold sequins for a festive look, but you can incorporate green, silver, white, or whatever color you’d like.
Finish off the look by curling your eyelashes and applying a long-lasting, volumizing mascara, such as our Max Impact Extreme Volumizing mascara.
This next look also calls for a little something extra. Specifically, you’ll need:
Start off by using a fluffy brush to sweep that red eyeshadow across your entire eyelid, including up into your crease. We recommend using a gel eyeshadow to get that dazzling pigmented look.
Once the eyeshadow has set, grab your liquid eyeliner (Color Crush Liquid Eyeliner in shade “Outdoorsy-ish” is perfect for this) and draw a thick wing. To nail the wing, start from just above the center of your pupil and apply the eyeliner with your eyes open.
It might be tempting to close your eye (and therefore have more eyelid to work with), but by applying with your eye open, you can see what the eyeliner will look like the majority of the time. This will be especially helpful if you have hooded eyes. Once you’ve got the basic shape down, you can go back in and fix it with your eye closed.
Now for the fun part. You’re going to apply those tiny clear crystals onto your eyelid, right at the border between that green eyeliner and red eyeshadow. You can apply as many as you’d like, but be sure to space them out evenly for maximum WOW effect.
Apply a tiny dot of eyelash glue to each crystal, then use the tweezers to put them on your eyelid. We recommend following the shape of the winged eyeliner.
Finally, use that same eyelash glue to apply your favorite pair of falsies, and voila – you’ll look like you walked right off the set of the Euphoria Christmas special. (Just remember to wash your tweezers in between applying the crystals and your falsies — proper makeup hygiene is everything.)
