1. Is SHEGLAM cruelty-free?
Yes, SHEGLAM products are 100% cruelty-free — and we’re committed to not testing on animals. All of our brand cosmetic and care products are approved through the globally recognized Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny Programme.
Cruelty Free International is an organization focused on ending animal experiments worldwide. Founded in 1898 by women’s rights philanthropist Frances Power Cobbe, with a history spanning over 100 years, Cruelty Free International has saved millions of animals from living and suffering in laboratories. Today, they continue to challenge and inspire politicians and decision-makers to respect animals and promote cruelty-free living.
In 2022, we received the Leaping Bunny Approval from Cruelty-Free International for our commitment to excluding animal testing from all stages of product development. For more information, please visit Cruelty Free.
2. Is SHEGLAM vegan?
SHEGLAM prides itself in offering high-quality makeup products devoid of over 1,700 potentially harmful ingredients, and over 90% of our products are vegan.
Vegan cosmetics do not contain animal-derived ingredients or by-products — this includes things like eggs, honey, and milk, but also lesser-known ingredients like collagen, beeswax, gelatin, and carmine. Instead, vegan products use synthetic or plant-based alternatives.
To make sure you’re purchasing vegan cosmetics, check out the ingredients listed on the description page of every SHEGLAM product. If the product is vegan, it will also say so under the “about” section!
3. Is SHEGLAM FDA compliant?
SHEGLAM is committed to consumer safety, formulating products free of carcinogens and toxic substances. SHEGLAM carefully adheres to global cosmetics safety regulations, including regulations set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Some of the most important standards set by the FDA make sure that cosmetics are safe for consumer use, don’t make false claims, and are correctly labeled when listing the contents of the product.
Our company works hard to make sure that before a product is marketed to our customers, it’s properly labeled and accurately promoted. On every SHEGLAM product description page, you’ll find a full list of the ingredients used in its creation — and we also disclose our ingredients on the packaging of our products.
SHEGLAM products also exclude over 1,700 potentially unsafe ingredients to give you the most peace of mind.
4. Is SHEGLAM safe for my skin?
Every person is different and can react to ingredients in different ways. Therefore, we encourage you to check out the ingredients of our products before purchasing to ensure that it’s safe to use on your unique skin.
SHEGLAM adheres to global cosmetics safety regulations, including regulations set by the U.S. FDA, EU Cosmetic Products Regulation (EUCR), GCC Standardization Organization (GSO), Mexican Official Standard and General Health Law (GHL), and more.
SHEGLAM products are formulated without carcinogenic substances or toxic materials, excluding over 1,700 potentially unsafe ingredients from our formulas. Each SHEGLAM product undergoes rigorous third-party inspections by trusted organizations like SGS and Intertek to ensure safety and quality.
Through the use of third-party testing and by adhering to quality standards set by the FDA, EUCR, GSO, GHL, and more, we feel confident in supplying our customers with makeup and self-care commodities that are safe to use.
5. Is SHEGLAM trustworthy?
SHEGLAM is committed to being transparent with consumers like you! Initially launched in 2019, we operate as an independent brand dedicated to quality assurance, and we work continuously to improve customer satisfaction.
In compliance with safety regulations, SHEGLAM discloses the ingredients of all our products, including fragrances and allergens, on both our packaging and our website to bring you the best customer experience.
We also feature secure payment options at checkout — we accept PayPal or credit/debit card transactions. We do our best to refund any incorrect, damaged, or defective products. For further questions, you can refer to our Refund Policy and are welcome to contact SHEGLAM Customer Support.

6. Is SHEGLAM allergy-safe?
All SHEGLAM products undergo quality testing before launch — but everyone's skin sensitivity is different, and you may still react to certain ingredients.
Allergies vary from person to person, and even if it is a common ingredient, some individuals may still be allergic to it. For peace of mind, consumers can check all of the ingredients in any SHEGLAM product at SHEGLAM.com. Just search the product name, and you can find all the ingredients listed on the product page!
7. Dose SHEGLAM use sulfates or parabens?
Many of SHEGLAM’s cosmetics are paraben-free. Parabens are synthetic chemicals used as preservatives in care products and cosmetics. These chemicals increase the product’s shelf life by synthetically preventing the growth of bacteria.
Less than 2% of our products contain parabens or sulfates to ensure optimal performance. Some SHEGLAM products do contain sulfates — however, each product undergoes strict quality testing to meet global cosmetic safety regulations before being launched. For full transparency, all ingredient lists are available on the SHEGLAM site, and it’s best to check these lists if you have any concerns!
8. Is SHEGLAM clean beauty?
Clean beauty is all about creating safe, ethical products that protect consumers, animals, and the environment. While there’s no official definition, it generally means being cruelty-free and free from harmful chemicals.
SHEGLAM is clean because we meet rigorous FDA and EUCR standards, conduct third-party inspections, and prioritize cruelty-free practices. We go further by excluding 1,700 harmful ingredients and proactively banning over 40 controversial ones, continuously updating our list to exceed clean beauty expectations.
By 2025, SHEGLAM is committed to achieving 'Next-Level Clean' status, setting a new benchmark in the clean beauty industry.
9. How dose SHEGLAM conduct product safety testing?
SHEGLAM guarantees that all products go through strict quality testing before launch, meeting global cosmetic safety regulations (incl. FDA standards and EU Cosmetic Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009). We make every effort to produce high-quality products, ensuring all ingredients are CRUELTY-FREE AND SAFE FOR YOUR SKIN. If you have any concerns or questions, please email our customer service team.
10. How can I check the expiration date for SHEGLAM products?
Most of our products are tested to have a shelf life of at least three years when unopened, during which they retain their integrity and perform as expected. A “PAO” (Period After Opening) symbol indicates how long the product is safe to use after opening without causing harm. If you notice any changes in smell, consistency, or other issues within the PAO period, please reach out to us. For products with a minimum durability of 30 months or less, an expiration date is printed directly on the packaging.
11. Where can I find the liquid amount or capacity for each SHEGLAM product?
